It's the beginning of the year, welcome to third grade!
You are now an intermediate student entering third grade! Students and families should understand that this is a HUGE leap from second grade. Some of you may have had me as your second grade teacher and I welcome you back for another awesomely academic year of success! Those of you who are new to my class, welcome and I look forward to a great year!
This year, we will be in room 28 and work our hardest to get ready to take the Maryland State Assessment in March 2012. Our main focus this year will be to challenge each student and meet their individual learning needs.
Of course, like each year, we will have our field trips along with other school sponsored events throughout the year!
I have been working very hard this summer so I can be ready to teach you in third grade by taking courses, participating in teacher workshops, and purchasing supplies for our classroom.
Please help get ready for third grade by making sure you are well prepared for the first day of school!
- Purchasing the materials on the third grade supply list
- Completing my summer packet that was handed out at the end of second grade.
- Reading to complete Ms. Darney's Wide Reading Summer Challenge (there's a list of books in my summer packet you can find at the library!)
- Staying safe throughout the summer because I need you healthy and refreshed on the first day of third grade!
